Description
Lesson 05 · Pretérito Indefinido · The Storybook 📖
One tense. One verb. One apple.
The Pretérito Indefinido is the storytelling tense for events that are over. Instead of memorising tables, you learn it with a picture: the Storybook 📖. Every page tells one event with a clear beginning and end. Everything revolves around one verb (comer) and one object (una manzana). That is very little – and that is exactly why it sticks.
- yo comí
- tú comiste
- él comió
- nosotros comimos
- vosotros comisteis
- ellas comieron

Good to know
This is a lesson, not a complete textbook: it covers only the Pretérito Indefinido with the verb “comer”, with no irregular verbs. “él” stands for él, ella and usted, “ellas” for ellos, ellas and ustedes – the verb form is the same in each case.
